The Peel Committee Against Women Abuse (PCAWA) is very excited for the return of the Take Back the Night (TBTN) anti-violence march and rally this fall!

PCAWA has been coordinating TBTN in our community since 2016 and is held as an annual event to increase awareness and support of every woman and gender diverse person’s right to live without the fear of violence, particularly sexual violence. Take Back the Night will be held on Thursday September 29 in Ken Whillans Square (2 Wellington St. W.) in Downtown Brampton. The event will begin at 5:00 PM.

The event will begin with a rally that will include booths from PCAWA member organizations sharing information about the supports and services they offer to survivors of violence in our community. We will also hear from survivors who will speak to the importance of these types of awareness-raising events. Women, gender-queer, trans and non-binary folks will then be invited to join in the march. Cisgender men will be invited to participate in an allyship activity during the march.
